⚡ Servicing your Tesla at an independent shop does not void your vehicle warranty — protected under Canadian consumer protection law.

This page covers the actual replacement of worn suspension components on Tesla vehicles, once a cause has been identified. If you're still trying to figure out what's making noise or how your Model Y rides, our diagnostic pages are the right starting point; this page is for the repair itself.

Not Sure What's Actually Wrong Yet?

Squeak & Creak Diagnosis
Low-speed friction noise, dry ball joints, worn bushings.
Clunk Over Bumps
Impact-load noise, sway bar end links, strut mounts.
Suspension & Wheel Bearings
General overview and hum/vibration diagnosis.
Juniper Comfort Suspension Retrofit
Ride-comfort upgrade, not a repair for worn parts.

If you already know what's worn, or we've diagnosed it for you, here's what replacement actually involves.

Components We Replace

Struts & Shocks

Full strut assembly or shock absorber replacement, including on models with adaptive/air suspension where applicable.

Control Arms & Ball Joints

Front lower control arm and ball joint replacement, model-specific procedures for Model 3, Y, S, and X.

Coil Springs

Replacement for sagged, broken, or corroded springs affecting ride height and handling.

Sway Bar Links & Bushings

The most common source of clunk-over-bumps noise; end links and bushings replaced as a set.

Wheel Bearings

Front and rear wheel bearing/hub assembly replacement for hum or growl that changes with speed.

Strut Mounts

Top mount bearing replacement for creak-when-steering or clunk-over-bump complaints tied to the mount rather than the strut itself.

Alignment After Suspension Work

Any replacement that affects ride height or control arm geometry, struts, control arms, or springs, requires a post-repair wheel alignment. Skipping this step leads to uneven tire wear and can mask whether the original noise or handling issue was actually resolved. We include an alignment check as standard on relevant suspension repairs.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a diagnosis before booking suspension replacement?

If you already know the failed component (from a prior inspection or our own diagnostic pages), we can book replacement directly. If you're not sure what's causing a noise or ride issue, start with our squeak & creak or clunk-over-bumps diagnostic pages, or simply mention your symptoms when booking and we'll diagnose it first.

Do you use genuine Tesla parts or aftermarket?

Both are available depending on the component and your preference — we'll walk you through the trade-offs for your specific repair.

Is an alignment needed after suspension replacement?

For any repair affecting ride height or control arm geometry — struts, control arms, or springs — yes, an alignment check is standard practice and included in relevant repairs.

How is this different from the Juniper suspension retrofit?

This page covers repairing worn or failed components. The Juniper/Comfort Suspension retrofit is a ride-comfort upgrade using new parts on a suspension that isn't necessarily broken — different purpose, different page.
