No Heat? No Problem.

You have no heat, and may be here because you were told that you needed a new heater core ($$$) or a heater core flush. Maybe you were referred by a local shop. We’re the experts, we use specialized equipment that others don’t. We can service your existing heater core at a fraction of the cost of replacement, and without taking your dashboard apart.

Frozen, no heat in car, needs a heater core flush

What’s a Heater Core

  • What is it? A heater core functions similarly to a radiator. It circulates hot coolant to provide warmth inside the car’s cabin.
  • What are the symptoms?
    • Heating: If your car struggles to warm up the cabin…
    • Strange Noises: Gurgling or bubbling sounds from the dashboard…
    • Overheating: Your car overheats despite adequate coolant…
  • What’s a professional heater core flush?
    • As mechanics, we diagnose the cause (which isn’t always the core)
    • Comprehensive check of entire cooling system, identify any leaks
    • Inspect coolant and replace if necessary
    • Heater core flush using specialized equipment (chemicals if necessary)
  • Benefits
    • A heater core replacement isn’t needed
    • No engine overheating
    • Heat in your car
    • Prolonged life of the heater core
    • Optimal functioning of the cooling system
  • Maintenance. Performing regular coolant changes (and flushes as needed) will prevent these issues.

Customer Education

Our service goes beyond just providing a heater core flush. We believe in educating our customers about the importance of regular vehicle maintenance. Our experts are always ready to share valuable insights and tips to help you maintain your vehicle’s health.

What Clogs the Heater Core?

  • Coolant: The coolant can become acidic and start to break down, picking up debris, rust, and sediment from the engine and radiator.
  • Scale and Rust Formation: Formation of scale and rust inside the cooling system.
  • Low Coolant Flow: Low coolant levels or poor circulation can cause sediment to settle in the heater core.
  • External Debris: External debris like leaves or dirt entering the cooling system.

Other Related Parts

As professional mechanics, we understand the heater core flush may not be needed. We may also diagnose the following when there is no heat:

  • Low Coolant: may not be able to circulate through the heater core effectively.
  • Thermostat Failure: Regulates the flow of coolant.
  • Trapped Air: Air pockets in the cooling system can impede the flow of coolant.
  • Water Pump: The water pump circulates coolant throughout the engine and heater core.
  • Heater Control Valve: If the heater control valve is stuck, blocked, or broken, it can prevent hot coolant from entering the heater core.
  • Faulty HVAC: Issues with the vehicle’s HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) lead to a lack of heat.
  • Heater Hoses: If hoses that carry coolant to and from the heater core are damaged, kinked, or blocked, they can restrict coolant flow.
  • Electrical Issues: Problems with the vehicle’s electrical system.
  • Blend Doors: Blend doors within the HVAC system control the mix of hot and cold air.
  • Low Engine Temperature: If the engine isn’t reaching the proper operating temperature, it won’t provide heat to warm the cabin.
  • Exhaust System: Although less common, an exhaust system leak near the heating system can draw heat away.
  • Radiator Cap: A radiator cap that doesn’t maintain the proper pressure.
  • Coolant: Using the wrong type of coolant or mixture.
  • Wear: General wear and tear can affect various components of the heating system.

Final Thoughts

A heater core flush may not resolve your issue if it’s something else. Coolant also contributes to the heat in your car. A heater core replacement is very pricey. Performing regular coolant changes (and flush if necessary) will prevent such inconvenience.
