Teslas are heavy and deliver instant torque, so they wear tires faster and more unevenly than most gas cars, especially on the inner edge. Regular rotation and a correct alignment are the cheapest way to make expensive EV tires last. Radman Auto Repair aligns, rotates, installs and repairs tires on every Tesla model in Etobicoke.
Quick answer: rotate every 10,000 km, check alignment once a year or after a hard pothole, and replace tires in pairs on the same axle.
At a glance
- Rotation: every 10,000 km, or when tread depths differ by 2/32 inch
- Alignment: yearly, after pothole or curb hits, or when wear is uneven
- Foam tires: repairable when the foam is trimmed for an inside patch
- Lifting: battery-safe lift points; jack mode on air suspension
- Pricing: call (416) 742-4521 for a quote

Why Teslas Wear Tires Faster
- Weight: the battery adds hundreds of kilograms compared with similar gas cars.
- Instant torque: hard launches scrub the drive tires.
- Factory camber: negative camber for handling puts more load on the inside edge. See Tesla inner-edge tire wear.
- Missed rotations: uneven wear between axles grows quickly if rotations are skipped.
Our Process
- Inspect tread depth on every tire, wear pattern and pressures.
- Lift safely battery-safe lift points; jack mode on air-suspension cars.
- Rotate, mount or repair with the correct torque on the lug nuts.
- Align measure and adjust, and check suspension parts that affect alignment.
- Check TPMS confirm the sensors and reset warnings.
- Road test for pull, vibration and steering centre.

Frequently Asked Questions
How often should Tesla tires be rotated?
Tesla recommends rotating every 10,000 km, or sooner if the tread depth between tires differs by 2/32 inch (about 1.5 mm) or more. Heavy, high-torque EVs wear tires faster than gas cars.
Why are my Tesla tires wearing on the inside edge?
Usually camber, toe or worn suspension parts, made worse by the car’s weight. An alignment check finds it. See our inner-edge tire wear page.
Can a Tesla tire with foam inside be repaired?
Often yes. Many Tesla tires have acoustic foam on the inside; the foam is carefully trimmed around the puncture so a proper patch-plug can be installed from the inside.
Do you use the correct lift points?
Yes. Teslas are lifted only at the battery-safe lift points with the correct pads, and air-suspension cars are put in jack mode first.
Do my Tesla’s tire sensors need a relearn after a rotation?
The car usually relearns sensor positions after driving. If a warning stays on, we check and reset the TPMS sensors.
Does servicing my Tesla at an independent shop void the warranty?
No. Choosing an independent shop for service and repairs does not void your Tesla vehicle warranty. Keep your invoices; we document the parts and work on every job.
