⚡ Servicing your car at an independent shop does not void your vehicle warranty — protected under Canadian consumer protection law.
By the Radman Auto Repair team, independent auto repair in Etobicoke since 1999 · Updated October 2026
Hondas are built to run a long time, which is why so many in the GTA are still on the road at 200,000 km and beyond. Keeping them there means following the Maintenance Minder, using Honda-spec fluids and catching the few known weak spots early.
Quick answer: Radman Auto Repair diagnoses and repairs Honda vehicles in Etobicoke with dealer-level scan tools, follows the factory maintenance schedule and uses parts and fluids that meet Honda specifications. Servicing here does not affect your warranty.

Common Honda Problems
VTC rattle on cold start a brief grinding rattle for a second or two after a cold start, common on 2.4 L engines; the variable timing actuator is replaced. See P0011.
A/C condenser leaks condensers on some newer Civics and CR-Vs are prone to leaks; we leak-test before replacing anything.
1.5 L turbo oil dilution some 2017–2018 CR-Vs and Civics with the 1.5 L turbo let fuel into the oil in cold weather; Honda issued software updates.
CVT judder a shudder at low speed on some continuously variable transmissions, often helped by a fluid service or software update.
No heat usually a restricted heater core or thermostat. See no heat in your Honda.
Check engine light EVAP leaks, misfires and sensors. See Honda check engine light diagnosis.
Honda Maintenance Notes
- Follow the Maintenance Minder codes (A, B and 1–7) rather than a fixed calendar.
- Use Honda-spec fluids: Honda ATF DW-1, Honda CVT fluid, and Type 2 coolant.
- Many Honda engines need a periodic valve clearance check; V6 models also have a timing belt.
- AWD models need their rear differential fluid changed with the correct Honda fluid.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is a Honda expensive to maintain at an independent shop?
Usually not. Hondas use common parts and straightforward service procedures. We follow the Maintenance Minder and use Honda-spec fluids, so you get dealer-level maintenance without dealer pricing.
What is the rattle when I start my Honda on a cold morning?
On many 2.4 L Hondas, a one- or two-second grinding rattle at cold start is the VTC actuator on the intake camshaft. It is replaced with an updated part.
Does my Honda need a timing belt?
Honda V6 engines in the Accord, Pilot, Odyssey and Ridgeline use a timing belt; most four-cylinder Hondas use a timing chain. The Maintenance Minder shows when the belt is due.
Can you service my Honda CVT?
Yes. We change CVT fluid with genuine Honda CVT fluid and check for software updates that address judder.
Will having the work done at an independent shop affect my warranty?
No. Using an independent shop for maintenance and repairs does not void your new-vehicle warranty. Keep your invoices; we document the parts and work on every job.
