Acura manufacturer performance Launched in 1986, Acura is the luxury and performance manufacturer division of Honda, a Japanese automaker known for its engineering excellence.  This was the first Japanese luxury brand in the market, setting a precedent.

The brand launched in the United States and Canada with diverse pair of models.  The Legend was a luxurious sedan with a good amount of power. The Integra, a sportier compact. They had looks, quality, an enriched feature set, and they were more price competitive than their European counterparts. The initial success helped establish Acura as a credible player in the luxury automotive segment.

The Acura NSX Changed Everything

In 1990, Acura introduced the NSX, a sleek, low weight mid-engine sports car that was not only fast and comfortable. The NSX was a technological marvel.  It featured an all-aluminum body and V6 with variable valve timing, a technology not widely used at the time. The NSX further cemented Acura’s reputation for pushing the boundaries of automotive technology and design.

Where Should We Go Now?

Throughout the 1990s and into the 2000s, Acura continued to expand its lineup, introducing with the TL and RL sedans and the MDX and RDX SUVs. These cars were recognized for a blend of luxury, technology, and performance, including innovations like Super Handling All-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD).

The evolution can be seen as more focus is put on strengthening the brand identity, emphasizing high performance and a sleek, and a modern design aesthetic. The reintroduction of the NSX in 2016, now as a hybrid supercar, demonstrates this commitment to focus, blending performance with advanced (hybrid) technology.

Their strength is appreciated for consistently serving advanced tech on wheels that brings a smile to owners and quality.
